The power industry has made significant strides since 2011, specifically in the renewable space with advancements in energy storage technology, improvements in solar panel efficiency from around 15% to over 20%, increases in wind turbine generator size from around 2MW to 5MW to now over 10MW, developments in smart grid technology, and advancements in hydrogen fuel cell technology that has improved efficiency and affordability. Renewable project owners, developers, operators, and EPCs have encountered new and unknown challenges and experienced significant regulatory changes, which, as a result, led them to GridSME as their partner to find solutions for those problems. As our clients' continue growing, GridSME will continue expanding our capabilities by investing in our SMEs and opening the door for them to grow their opportunities, knowledge, and expertise.

As we continue on toward our goal of being a 50-year company, we will continue building strong and deep foundations with the people, processes, and technology that make up GridSME. I’ve now been in the electrical industry for 40 years this March with the last 12 years creating, running and now cheerleading GridSME. In that time I’ve seen so much fundamental change from deregulation in California to the tensions within energy transformation to renewables and an emerging shift in the way we think about energy and other critical infrastructure. What I am so grateful for is the opportunity for our team to be at the forefront of facilitating that change. The best part of my career is in GridSME and GridSecurity, and my hope is that we continue making a difference by enabling and encouraging the transformations ahead of us.
