Tom has an extensive background in the electric industry with over 40 years of experience across a wide range of topics. He assists clients with CAISO market services and interactions, operations and planning processes, organizational issues, and regulatory compliance.
Tom’s experience includes generation and transmission operations, generation planning and forecasting, wholesale markets/energy procurement, compliance and regulatory interface. During his utility career, he held several senior management positions and was involved with multiple large-scale market and system implementations. He was an expert regulatory witness for 11 years, justifying the operation of a $4+ billion annual generation and purchased power portfolio. He is certified in Applied Project Management, and experienced in business resiliency as a trained National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Commander.
