Casey James, our Senior Meter Engineer at GridSME, brings over seven years of experience in metering engineering and management, with a focus on large-scale energy projects and regulatory compliance. Holding a B.S. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a concentration in Power from California State University, Sacramento, Casey has established himself as an expert in controls and metering integration, battery energy storage, and both retail and wholesale metering. He is also a respected consultant on national metering regulations, advising key stakeholders in the rapidly evolving power sector.
In previous roles, Casey led metering engineers and technicians across California, developing streamlined workflows, training programs, and guidance for compliance. He has played a key role in pioneering methodologies for some of the nation’s largest solar and battery projects and has extensive experience with CAISO-compliant inspections, SCADA system implementations, and programming advanced metering algorithms. At GridSME, Casey applies his technical expertise and leadership to deliver precise, reliable, and compliant metering solutions for our clients.
