The Reliable Wire, Volume 2, Issue 12, December 2014

We are heading into the busiest month of the year—crunch time. Time to complete the all the projects you are supposed to have completed by year’s end (ready for self-certifications?), time to make sure there’s enough left in your budget, time to make do with fewer hands, time to go to parties, time to send out cards, and time to spend with family and friends. That is a lot to do in one holidayshortened month. Therefore, it is a time to prioritize. Don’t leave yourself work for the times you should be spreading cheer.

Physical Security Standard Approved FERC issued Order 802 approving the CIP-014-1—Physical Security Reliability Standard on November 20, 2014. This standard was developed in response to the attack on the PG&E Metcalf substation on April 16, 2013 (which now has its own Wiki page) and FERC’s March 7, 2014 Order Directing Filing of Standards.
