The heat has descended upon Folsom, CA. As I huddle in front of the vents that deliver wonderful conditioned air to my face, which keep me blissfully ignorant of the harsh conditions outside, I am thankful to all of you for doing your jobs so well. On a 108 degree day, you don’t want the AC to quit. However, there are many among us for which power is far more important whether it is to keep life support systems humming, energizing radar systems to monitor air traffic and nasty summer thunderstorms, keeping insulin vials cool, or delivering water to parched fields. Every now and then its good to think of the big picture of what we accomplish together, rather than focusing narrowly on the work we do at our job.
