GridSME to provide NERC/WECC Compliance Services to Nevada Irrigation District

We are very pleased to announce that GridSME will provide the Nevada Irrigation District with NERC/WECC Compliance guidance and assistance. The Nevada Irrigation District represents one more California hydroelectric provider in GridSME’s growing portfolio of hydro clients along with Placer County Water Agency, Merced Irrigation District, Hetch Hetchy Water and Power (San Francisco Public Utilities Commission), Yuba County Water Agency, and Modesto Irrigation District.

Formed in 1921, The Nevada Irrigation District is headquartered in Grass Valley, California, a picturesque and historic California Gold Rush town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, 60 miles northeast of Sacramento.

NID is an independent special district operated by and for the people who own land within its 287,000-acre boundaries. NID provides service in an expansive geographic area that makes the district one of the largest in the State of California. NID has a generation capacity of 82.2 megawatts, produces an average 375 million kilowatt hours of energy each year, and sells its electrical output to the Pacific Gas & Electric Co.
